If you’ve read Amy’s Landry Love series, then you’ve already encountered Sawyer Fletcher a few times. As the good guy veterinarian in the small town of Landry, he’s had the attention and affection of The League for years. This book had so many laugh out loud moments, but also tons of swoon and let’s not even forget the fact that the good guy has the dirtiest mouth ever!

From the moment I read my first Amy Alves book, I’ve been so caught up and obsessed with her California small towns. I enjoy the awesome laughs her stories provide, along with the captivating characters that she creates. But some of the best things happen when the small town meddlers get involved and much like Landry, the small town of Vaughn has its fair share of nosy people. Which was why the whole LoveVine adventure—the Bachelor style dating experience—was such a laugh fest. There were moments of cringe, much like one would while watching the show that inspired it, but there’s tons of laughs and lots of hating on the people that need to be voted off.

“A date with me will make a whole new man out of you, Fletcher. I think you simply need the right woman to put an end to your unlucky streak.”

Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes and I’m always so intrigued to see how authors can put their own twist on it. And Amy made it so much fun. Sawyer’s incredibly unlucky when it comes to the dates he goes on—something either goes wrong or he and his date hurt themselves and it’s complicated. So when he’s the bachelor enlisted to be part of LoveVine, he needs to find a way to make things work in his favour. Olivia Vaughn—the younger sister of his best friend—is back in town, fresh off her divorce and she’s dealing with rumours about why she’s divorced and people finding ways to ruin her reputation. So when she finds Sawyer in this predicament, she offers to be a plant in the bachelor show. Just to ensure that at the end, he has someone in his corner and someone he can trust.

What they don’t expect is for feelings to become such a big deal and for everything to spin so completely out of control. But before that, we get to experience so many awesome moments. The innovative ideas for worst dates that Amy came up with for Sawyer made me snort a few times. I feel so bad for the guy, because he goes through so much during these dates and they’re all so stressful! Watching Sawyer and Olivia make a go of their relationship was a highlight. I loved their banter and chemistry. I enjoyed watching them go from being mostly strangers—they’ve been apart for a few years, after all—to becoming close friends again to falling into bed in a heap. And my god, Amy amped up the steam in this along with such great dirty talk. Sawyer joins my rank of favourite dirty talking heroes and I enjoyed every minute.

I’d also like to take a minute to talk about how ready I am for the Vaughn brothers to get their stories. Not only does Jensen have the best name, I am obsessed with his growly personality. And don’t even get me started on Jaxon and Brody has so much going for him! Plus, I hope Sawyer’s brother gets a little something something too!
